A FRESH LOOK AT PSALM 23
I looked at Psalm 23 from a different angle today. It’s so familiar; I didn’t want to skim over it.

There were some concepts and words I have wondered about. So I dug deeper by looking at Strong’s Concordance.
The Hebrew word for enemies in verse 6 is related to vexing, binding up, to be in distress, besiege, be straitened, to press hard upon, show hostility toward, harass. I’ve never really thought about the binding up part before. But I’ve certainly experienced it. Have you?
I’ve always been comforted by the thought that my Shepherd is with me if I have to walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I’ve always associated this verse with isolated time periods.
Maybe it’s because the times we’re living in seem to be getting darker and darker, and the culture of death is coming out from hiding, today the thought came to me: Could this verse mean not only those times when Death beckons physically, but also just the idea of daily living in a fallen, decaying, decadent, death-choosing world?
And for us now that would be ALL the time.
What a comfort that our heavenly Father‘s love is with us - His love which casts out fear!
