COFFEE NAPS?

I get drowsy in the afternoon. How about you?
Here's something you can do to quickly revv up again - in the work breakroom, or at lunch in your car, and of course at home on the couch or bed. (If people will leave you alone, at our local coffee shop in one of their comfy chairs.)
I learned this from our son, Joel Kautt, who might explain it better. I’ll try.
Drink coffee.
Then IMMEDIATELY lay down and relax. Have your alarm set for a brief time. My magic number is 15 minutes. I’ve also gone as few as 8 minutes with success.
I usually fall asleep in a couple minutes. I wake up feeling
rested and ready to tackle the rest of the day.
The key is laying down quickly after drinking, and getting
up as soon as the alarm goes off.
This means you’ve gotta have everything lined up before you drink so
there are no delays.
Go to the restroom.
Darken the room, if possible.
Remove distractions.
Shut the door.
Drink the coffee.
Repose.

I will say this...as a matter of survival in a home with 6 kids, I had to learn to
relax and focus my mind on peaceful pleasant things when I lay down to sleep.
Sometimes I need to do deep breathing. That enables me to fall asleep quickly.
But it works for me most of the time.
*I actually use a caffeinated brain drink that calms the
usual caffeine jitters with L-Theanine.
No, I’m not a coffee snob. I only drink actual coffee about every 2 months. I just know the organic is healthier. And consuming it freshly ground means I'm getting important nutrients that dissipate soon after grinding.
